Day Out with Thomas train ride event
The Roaring Camp Railroads is located in Felton California and is also known as the Roaring Camp and Big Trees Narrow Gauge Railroad which begins from their depot in Felton, California and runs along steep grades to the top of Bear Mountain. This travel is about 2.5 miles long and through the beautiful redwood forest.
They are registered as a National Mechanical Engineering Historical Landmark and they offer authentically preserved narrow gauge steam engines from the 1890's which are still in service providing rides for passengers. This is also a special opportunity to see California's towering redwood forests in all their glory.
The Roaring Camp Railroads is host to many special and exciting annual train excursion events including the every popular Day Out with Thomas, a must for Thomas the Tank Engine fans. Other special events throughout the year include Redwood Mountain Faire, Father’s Day - Hats Off to Dad, Santa Cruz Starlight Evenings, 4th of July Celebration, Great Train Robberies, Moonlight Steam Train Dinner Party, Day Out with Thomas, Summer Gathering of Mountain Men, Musical Saw Festival, Santa Cruz Starlight Evening & Dinner Train, Happy Halloween Harvest Fair, Children’s Ghost Train, Holiday Tree Walk, and Santa Cruz Holiday Lights Train.
